First Parade

We were outside all day today. This morning we walked around the lake and stopped at the park. After Cassie's nap we packed up and went to the beach. Cassie loves digging in the sand....the other day she was sitting in the sand as the waves rolled into her feet, scooped up a shovel full of sand and dumped it on her head!! She did it twice and was so fast I couldn't stop her. I tried taking a bucket of water and dumping it on her head to get it off, she didn't appreciate that very much. I pretty much had to wait for her hair to dry so I could brush it out and then give her a bath.

1st Parade Experience
At 4:00 was the 4th of July parade, so we walked downtown and got our spot. Matt picked us up a brownie sundae and we waited for the parade to begin. I think Cassie had mixed emotions about the parade. She liked watching the people, she liked the animals and she liked the mascots but she did not like the fire engines and ambulances. To put it mildly she FREAKED out. They would put on the sirens and honk the horns and the world fell apart for Cassie. I can't blame her because it was very loud...poor girl. I would try to distract her and tell her to wave bye...so while she was screaming and crying big alligator tears she would wave and say "bye-bye" in a very frantic voice.
