Family Vacation

This past week we had our first family vacation!!!   We have taken some long 3 day weekends here and there but not a full long week.  We spent a week in Eagle River at Wild Eagle Lodge and visited our cabin.  Its been 5 years since I have been up there.  Cassie was 2 years old.  Then the twins came.   What does that tell you?  Twins were hard.  We didn't go anywhere.   Life has now gotten easier...Halleluiah!!

The Ride was 4 1/2 hours and went great there and back.

We had great weather.  One afternoon it did rain but we just spent that time in the indoor pool.   Cassie swam on her own and the littles put on life jackets and swam in the big pool.  They loved it....one of their favorite things that they did there.
The resort has a swing set and play equipment.   We spent some nights here when Cassie was 2 years old.  Never imagined we would be back with 3 other kids in tow.  Very blessed.
We ate on the patio every night.  The deer roamed in the mornings and in the afternoons the chipmunks ran underfoot, the geese flew overhead and the boats zipped by on the lake.

Our view from the patio.   The lake was right behind the trees.  Deer roamed this space when I opened the blinds on 2 morning.  A Doe and 2 fawns.  It was so relaxing to sit on the patio in the morning, drink coffee and read the Bible here.
Almost every night we had a bonfire.  On our way to set one up here.
Beautiful spot right on the lake with a fire pit and chairs.
Twin love.    Waiting for the fire to start.

Matt and Cassie did some fishing but not a lot.

 Family picture during the fire.
Alex helping Dad with the "fire fire"

This boy loves his fires.  Real ones and when there is not a real one he pretends to make his own.  Such a boy.

We visited the cabin.  Its been a long long time.  It was pretty overgrown.
Took a picture inside next to a picture of Monkey Papa.  He would have loved this.
The Roseks at the family cabin.   We finally all made it up here!!!!!

 Last pics before heading home.
We had a great time!   It was so much fun and so great to be at the season of life where we can start these family traditions.
