3 months old!

I have been waiting to reach this milestone!!   I have read that the 3 month mark is a big turning point in having twins meaning things start to get easier.   They don't cry as often, they interact more, there is more of a schedule and all of this is turning out to be true.   The only time there is really upset with them is if they both want to be held and there is only my 2 arms.   They have to take turns and sometimes don't like it very much.

Mandy

When she smiles her eyes light up and her mouth pops open.

I will go into her room when I hear her crying and as soon as she sees me she will smile thru her tears.   So sweet.

She has been a bit difficult to feed at times.   She will push her bottle out with her tounge and then cry or smile likes its the funniest thing in the world.   Goof ball.   Then she will realize she is very hungry and finally take the bottle.

Hates tummy time

Has a flat head from favoring one position in her crib all the time.

Emily

She has her Daddys smile.  It starts out crooked and her eyes squint.

When she "talks" its in a very soft delicate voice.   Its the only way I can describe it.

Hates tummy time as well

Also has a flat head from favoring one position in her crib.

Cassie

She has been a sassy girl.   Sometimes it takes all I have to reign in my patience with her and sometimes its totally gone.  She has gone without her favorite puppy, dreamlite and also no bed time stories.  (Tonight is one of those nights with no stories)

She is also a big helper with her sisters.   She helps with diapers and gets things when I ask.   First thing in the morning she says hi to her sisters and tells them she loves them.   It is really sweet to see.

We are still working on her reading lessons, which she is doing awsome at.   We squeeze them in when the babies are napping.
Watching cartoons this morning
The past week she had a cold.   Last night at the dinner table we had tacos.  She asked for a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup for dessert, but it sounded liquidy when she asked.   She coughed and proceeded to vomit tacos all over herself and the kitchen table.   This happened because she coughed to hard and gagged which....voila.   Needless to say Matt and I lost our appetite.  I gave him a baby I was holding, stripped Cassie of her clothes and threw her in the shower, then cleaned up a table of vomit.  And I HATE vomit.   She then got out of the shower and asked for a Peanut Butter Cup.   What?!!!
We said No.  Are you crazy girl?

Me

I am doing great, love me life.   I stare at our beautiful family and home and am so awstruck that this is my life.    Never thought we would have kids and we are blessed with 3!!!   Thankful every day....even when Cassie tells me she doesn't love me when I'm really mad at her.   Ha!!  I'm sure I muttered that to my parents as well.

A Quick post while babies are napping!!

A pic of the twins to start off things!!    They are getting big and changing so much!    They are 11 weeks old already!

Mandy weighs  over 11 pounds
Emily weighs over 8 pounds

Mandy sleeps a 7 hour stretch at night.
Emily's longest stretch has been 4.5 hours.

They are smiling and doing all the baby talk...a lot of cooing and gahing going on.   So cute.    I lay them next to each other and they really don't take notice of each other yet, they just whack each other in the face with their hands....which starts each of them crying.

Things have been going well and they are pretty easy babies.   HOWEVER, yesterday was rough.   They both barely napped and Cassie was pretty naughty on top of that, the girl was trying my Patience!! At the end of the day she had 2 of her favorite stuffed animals taken away and no bed stories were read to her.     Made for a bad day.  I was wiped out at the end.  I'm glad to say today has been much better, everyone has been in better moods.

My brother and his girl friend were visiting from California during Labor Day, it was my brothers first time seeing his new nieces.   We loved his girlfriend also, she was super nice and awesome with the girls.  Cassie LOVED her.

8 weeks Old

On Saturday the twins will be 2 months old.   I have noticed a change in them from 7 to 8 weeks.   I see more personality emerging.   At 6 weeks they started smiling.  Mandy gives tons of smiles while Emily you have to work a little harder to get them.
Bed Time

Both girls are doing great.   They are pretty even tempered, not to fussy but they do have their days.   They love to sleep and go down to bed and naps no problem.  I lay them down awake and usually they will make a few protests but within min have put themselves to sleep.
Emily sick and tired of pictures

Mandy
Eats between 3-4 ounces every 2-3 hours
At night sleeps 6 straight hours before getting up to eat
Starting to make other sounds besides crying...yay!
Weighs 10 lbs, 12 ounces. She is about the 50th percentile for weight.

Emily
Eats between 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours
At night the longest she is slept is 4 1/2 hours straight.
Has started to blow rasberries with her spit
Weighs 7 lbs, 4 ounces.  She is not even on the chart yet but is shooting up there.
Emily

Mandy

Today was their 2 month checkup and they did great.   They also got 2 shots which was heartbreaking with all their tears.    It was hard because Emily was screaming bloody murder after her shot but I couldn't comfort her for long as I had to put her down in her car seat to pick up Mandy for her shot.   I hate seeing the look of shock in their eyes when they are poked.   Poor sweet girls.
Mandy and Emily watching cartoons

Both Emily and Mandy are getting flat spots on their heads from laying on their back and favoring one position with their head.  The doctor was not concerned with it, he told me to try to make them change position and showed me some therapy to do with them.  He said the majority of kids heads fix on their own...rarley they need a helmet.
Our mornings

8 weeks old!

They came home with 2 stickers saying they were brave patients which Cassie is now wearing on her dress.

Moved in!!

Last Friday we moved into our new house and I have to say we LOVE it.   We love the house and we love the subdivision.   There are trails thru out the subdivion that we have walked alot of and every one we meet is so friendly.   This will be the house that we watch our kids grow up in and pretty much spend the rest of our lives here.

We are pretty much unpacked.  Now we need to paint and hang pictures, but for the most part we got settled and unpacked in record time.

The girls are doing great.   The twins will be 6 weeks on Monday!   They are pretty good babies, we have had a couple of nights where they are both cranky from 6-10 at night but thats not the norm.   They go to bed around 9/9:30 and get up at midnight and 3 am to feed.  Today we went to Home Depot to order blinds for the whole house and all 3 girls were perfect.   The people working there told us Cassie was very well behaved and the babies were very good babies.   That was a nice compliment!

Emily
I am starting to get back into the swing of things.   I had a play date at our house on Thursday.   I got up that morning to feed the babies, ran at 5am, got home and made blueberry muffins and was ready for all of our friends by 10:00.

Mandy

My poor body, its not the same after having twins.   Tummy Tuck may be in my future....for real.   Ever heard of Twin Skin...well I think I have it.  Who knows, I had the twins a month ago so we will see what improvment happens as the months go by.  I have to go clothes shopping big time.   My old clothes don't fit me so I am stuck wearing a few maternity clothes I have....I loved wearing maternity clothes but I don't love it when I am NOT pregnant.

Still amazes me to see my 3 children

Field Trip to the Fire Station!

My Mom came over today to watch the twins so I could take Cassie on a field trip to a fire station with some other kids.    It was nice to have just some me and her time.   She loved it and kept telling me how cool it was.

Fire Girl Cassie

She took a tour of the Ambulance

Spraying the fire house with the fireman!

The wheel is as big as her!

"Don't be scared of firemen!"

As close as she would get....the mask scared some kids
It was a fun time for her and I.   My Mom did well with both babies also...she even had to feed them together and did just fine.
